Job Description - Driver / Guide

 
Driver Positions Available for Summer
Premier Alaska Tours has three different driver positions available for the 2012 summer season.

1. Park Connection Driver
The Park Connection Driver is hired to operate a scheduled service between Anchorage, Seward, and Denali.

Highlights to Park Connection Driver position include:
8 hours per day; 6 days per week (approximately 50 hours/week)
$12.00 hour plus $20 pre-paid gratuities per shift
$30 per diem for overnights (2-3 per week in Denali)

This position is ideal for those employees that want a regular schedule and be at home most evenings!,

2. Tour Driver
The Tour Driver position is the most competitive position in our company. Travel throughout Alaska; senior drivers may travel to the Yukon Territory.

Highlights of this position include:
Up to 80 hours in 8 days (average 65-70 hours in 8 days)
$11 per hour plus gratuities
$30 per diem for overnights (3-5 nights per week)

Ideal for the experienced driver-guide in Alaska who is ready to experience the best tour operation in the state!

3. Part-Time Driver

The Part-Time Driver position is designed to assist our organization on our most busy day of the week Friday! Travel between Anchorage and Seward moving guests to/from cruise ships. Additional hours may be available as needed

Highlights of this position include:
$12 per hour plus gratuities
12-15 hours each Friday of the summer from May 29 to September 11
$30 per diem for overnights (if needed)

Ideal for those individuals with full-time employment that want to make some extra money on Friday!

Essential Tasks
· Operate 54+-passenger motorcoach throughout Alaska and Yukon Territory
· Provide safety information to guests in regards to the motorcoach
· Load up to 56 guests luggage onto motorcoach
· Discuss interesting facts & information regarding Alaska to guests over PA system
· Complete daily paperwork including Vehicle Inspection Report & Driver Log Book
· Maintain interior/exterior cleanliness of motorcoach including restrooms
· Do maintenance on coach while on-the-road away from Operations staff
· Complete other tasks as assigned by Operations staff

Minimum Qualifications
· Be at least 21 years of age
· Hold a current Commercial Drivers License (Class B) with Passenger and Air Brake endorsements
· Hold a current FMCSR physical examination medical card from an authorized physician
· Possess a minimum of 2 years motorcoach driving experience in Alaska
· Have no more than 2 traffic violations or preventable accidents within previous three years on driving record and no DWI/DUI's (all applicants are required to submit a current driving record prior to being hired)
· Be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
· Be willing to submit to pre-employment, random, post-accident, and just cause drug & alcohol testing
· Possess knowledge and thorough understanding of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
